RJR: ‘There’s no such thing as an ordinary life’

A man from Mumbai who was once a child actor, has been arrested for allegedly raping a young girl at the age of 10.

According to police, Rajeev Bhatnagar, who is now 26 years old, was accused of raping a 14-year-old girl at his parents’ home in the city’s Jamshedpur district.

According the FIR, Bhatnaagar raped the girl on the night of November 12, 2014.

She was later taken to a nearby hospital.

“I have been arrested and will be produced in court,” said the girl’s mother, who spoke to Al Jazeera on condition of anonymity.

Bhatnagi was arrested on Tuesday evening by the police, who said they were looking for an additional person to be charged.

The case was first reported on November 15, according to the police.

The victim, who was identified only by her first name, had not been identified by the authorities.

She did not have a prior criminal record.

Bhattnagar is also facing two other cases for raping the same 14-yr-old.

Police said that in both cases, he was booked under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with sexual violence against women.
